Down to the house to see if any progress has been made on the house (to see if we are any closer to a move in date). Bright & early this morning, as Giorgia is away.
A miserable day today (9 degrees, and rainy). The ground around the house is waterlogged (its been raining fro 3 days). Only the back door open, the tiling downstairs is now almost finished, as I left the house the tilers arrived, so by Monday the tiling will be complete.
The staircase still needs to be stained.
The range hoods have been installed in both the kitchen and the butlers pantry, with a hole in the plaster (no hole through to the garage for the extractor vent yet).
Roller door installed in the garage (no back door yet).
They also still need to install the 2 x 5,000 litre water tanks at the back of the garage.
The Tiling has also been completed on the balcony outside of the master bedroom, just needs the balustrade to be put in place (and the sliding door made good). The sliding door does not (at the moment) slide in any way.... Will this be fixable or will it require a new door (how much time, and damage, will be done through this work)!
Bidets installed in all the bathrooms now, lets hope they haven't put it in the wrong place (too close to the wall, on the left hand side). Will take a tape measure next time.
It all seems arse backwards, they build the body to put the bath in, the bath is 'plumbed-in', the tiler come along and remove the bath to tile the box, the tilers finish and the plumber comes back to put the bath in and has to knock chunks out of the box/body for the bath.
How will the strength of the box be maintained/re-established now :-?
And then the tilers have to come back and replace the tiles..... It all seems crazy!
Have contacted Porter Davis to ask when I can get the unused tiles. We paid enough for the tiles that I want all of them that are not used!
