OUR LAND!!! Finally

Finally, after last week unconditional approval of our land loan we are the proud owner of our gorgeous piece of land in Heritage Springs: lot 914 is ours!!!

We went there today and made a couple of pictures to see what the view will be like from our new home, very exciting!! The first image shows you the view from the front of the house,

whereas the second one is the rear view at the moment, this will change quite dramatically when all the homes are built around there. This is getting really exciting...

Colours and tiles

Tiles appointment was on the 1st of May and after that we just have to wait for one additional week for the colour and electrical appointments.. we'll see how much those will be.
Finally done the tiles appointment at NT, this was the hard part, as we have decided to get all tiles on the ground floor and want those tiles to fit the wood on the top floor (beautiful featured New South Wales Spotted Gum).

Tiles: Done - Tiled through-out downstairs and in all wet areas, Solid wood upstairs (Spotted Gum). Wood by Connollys in Coburg.
Colours: Done - Same colours through-out with feature walls (Theatre room darker), plain cornice and no picture rails.
Electrical: Done - Cat6 cabeling through-out, data points in all 4 bedrooms + study and 3 TV areas (Home theatre setup). All data points back to a central hub.

Bricks, mortar, front door glass, downstairs tiles, grout, window frame, roof tiles etc .......
One selection down.......

Master Bedroom ensuite: Tile's, vanity unit, and stone worktop

All other en-suite's bathroom colours.... Tiles and vanity unit

Kitchen : Tiles, cupboard doors and stone worktop.
Splashback in kitchen and kitchen/pantry

Tender Appointment

Pretty nervous, tomorrow morning we will have our tender appointment. We are both already stressed out as we're told it will take over 3 hours to go through the documents. Let's hope we thought about everything we want and that we will remember it tomorrow... Hubby is not the patient type, I won't be surprised if after a couple of hours he's going to try killing the PD guy.. We'll see how it goes. Cross my fingers.

Went OK....

Had to insist NO carpet (even if its an upgrade).
Double Glazing throughout (not just on the front where people can see).
The Staircase ..... We managed to get what we want (we think)

Our new home

Hi!

Moved to the country just few months ago and we already out house hunting. This is how we like to do things: fast and painless. Let's hope it will be so..

We decided a couple of months ago to buy a lot of land at "Heritage Springs" in Pakenham (near to public transports and shopping centers and it looks lovely).

We looked at different builders and decided for PD: it seems having very good finishings and good reviews.

The home will be a Marriott 44 (I know the 48 is the one in display everywhere, but 44 would suit us fine) with a Retro facade.

We will start the building in November but in two weeks we are having our tender meeting: very scary, we are not yet sure of all different upgrading options. Even if most things we want are on our list, as soon as you read someone else's blog you find out there are things you never thought of which are very important like split heating/cooling system, or the number of power points you need... I believe this will be the real headache: how to organise the interia, as the rest seems pretty easy.
